June 6, 1956 - biggordie flunks Grade 13 Trigonometry [even after they lowered the pass mark to 30, because 90% of those who wrote it had flunked]. Neither the book nor the movie did very well.
On a more serious note, thanks to all those who stormed ashore on D Day - the Americans, British, French and Canadians - many of whom gave their lives so that I could lead the life I led. And all of you, yours.

I second that Gordie. God Bless the American Military and all those who have sacrificed the ultimate.

Happy Anniversary, Montana!
Gosh, you've been married long enough to be Markland's mother. I know he's from North Carolina, so isn't it about time you two came out of the closet as Mama Montana and Baby Billy?

Kathlene: Congratulations!! Just one more for fifty - wow!!! Your Northern Pal Well, due to the rate of decline, I'm not sure we'll make it to 50! I remember D.O. Harris talking about his 48th anniversay, and he didn't make it to 50. (Wasn't he a great poster? I miss his wry humor!) BTW- You are my ONLY Northern pal! Bab

I know he's from North Carolina, so isn't it about time you two came out of the closet as Mama Montana and Baby Billy? Wait a minute, Diane! I had three baby boys, but I don't remember one named Billy! Mine were Timmy, Tommy & Tony! I studdered a lot- you know all those 'T's'. I'm sure 'Baby Billy' was a cute little 'feller', but I don't think he could have handled an old hag like me for a ma! B&B

Thank you, Trish,
I appreciate the words....I know that you have had one awful tough time the last couple of years, and I hope that things will turn around for you! I'd say you've had more than your share, so it's high time for change!
Best wishes, K.

Happy Anniversary Montana!!!!
Were you married in Montana or did a Tarheel sweep you off your feet?
My parents will celebrate 55 years together later this week, as you said a little worse for the wear. I know like them, you'll treat every day as a gift.

Thank you, Ruth!
Nope, actually I was swept off my feet by a 6-foot, good looking Redneck from South Carolina! One look into his green eyes and I was 'in for life!' But 49 years later, it doesn't feel like a 'life sentence!'
Wow, 55 years is a real accomplishment! It really is not that common to make it that far. Congratulations to your parents!
Best wishes,
Montana
