Hello, Hunk! I saw that translation and thought it meant mad as in crazed rather than mad as in angry. Either way, it doesn't apply to me because I am at peace now. Here is the interview Bob Reece did with Jari: www.friendslittlebighorn.com/interviewjariteilas.htm. Your point about Jari reading in English is a good one. Thank you for your kind words to Jari. He deserves them. Diane

Billy, no, that's not my review of the Altshuler book. But I certainly affirm those words. I bought it two years ago; it's full of interesting historical tidbits. Unlike Heitmann's which gives only dates of rank and such, this work provides biogaphical sketches of each officer. You'll come across a number of familiar names from the Sioux War. My only complaint is that she stops at 1886; would prefer she'd have gone all the way to 1898 since Apache outbreaks occurred as late as 1896.
