DucemusI went to the expert Ford, John.... a possible crossing place. Here - www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjoLZaFZWTk from about 1:38:00 in..... Cavalry charge, hostile's charges and........... running horses Many Scalps speaks - "Crazy Horse, the walking soldiers come with guns that speak twice, we should leave for our men will not stand against the big guns. They are cautious and will not be caught unaware marching here. The Crows will tell of Long Hair. We must leave and let Little Custer see our families go in marching up the valley. They will not understand. Our pony herd is huge and we should take it east across Water Rat's Creek to water and over north and east of the soldiers in the ground. As our families leave, gather our braves with the ponies and stampede them through Little Custer with us immediately behind. They are ours. Game over."

I hope no animals were hurt in the making of that film (movie), they did look pretty scared though, imagine if you were sitting at home enjoying your Hershey bar and a couple of men on horses chase you down your road for a couple of miles with the threat of death and film it all, and when they were finished with you and you are flat out on the point of collapse and nerves torn to shreds, they sell the footage and make millions, you on the other hand get nothing only a severe nervous breakdown.

Here is some really interesting information on how they filmed the scene. www.ew.com/article/1991/03/08/filming-dances-wolves-stampede and for your entertainment really stupid tourists who don't understand that animals in a National park are Wild. Believe it or not after a lawsuit were someone was killed by a bison, Yellowstone is required to hand every car coming through the gate informaton that wild animals are dangerous. Dumb tourists I get slighting annoyed about dumb tourists because when we were in Yellowstone when the girls were younger a dumb tourist endangered Sam's life by provoking a bison. Another dumb tourist story--only involving alligators. Steve and I were at the Everglades and a park ranger told us about an incident that happened just before we got there. It seems he had really made some tourists angry because he stopped them from putting their toddler children on the back of a large alligator that was sunning himself near the visitor center. They thought it was a tame alligator kept around for pictures.
