HR horse color varies with available light and not just as you posed in your question regarding a black and white photo. Several years ago I took color photos of my sorrel horse at night, early morning and sunrise. The red did not come out till direct sunlight was on the horse.
Since your picture is black and white with varying combinations there is not much of color choice is there?

Here's some research for you HR. I wondered what time of day could De Rudio determine the color of a horse so I took some pictures. This one is before sunrise. What color do you see? Attachments:

Hi there, gents. l am conducting research - ok. Do you believe Gerrard met Cooke as he stated? The pictures of 7th Cavalry companies at FAL, is illustrative of the horse color problem, referred to by many these days as problemo! It occured to me that irony, might just be masking a picture of Benteen's Black hoorse troop. Worry not, that print might just be of interest and value to those with interest in Benteen. ____________________________________________________ l have thumbnailed todays stuff, it being the larger format which drives some of you nuts. Enjoy.

HR what research are you doing? I don't see how the bunny suit has anything to do with research. I would like to see your research but all I think I see is copy and paste. Putting the whole work in the collections section would be valuable but posting a smart part is really no help.
Usually such a presentation as yours is to support a position not to present research.

Coming along nicely is the definitive definition defining definately what took place before the world decided that North was west when it should in fact have been a bear's paw to an unknown (the nth) percentile of data studied.

You always post such interesting information. Is it possible to make the pictures a little smaller though?

Hi reddirt, i'll bear the image size issue in mind. Here is one prepared earlier - something of a blockbuster, also a matter l have been banging the drum about for......... ever, really. The history of the history of the battle, is as fascinating as the battle history itself.
What a lot of history.
In regards the 'Twin Peaks' issue below - this is entirely serious research. Base line study of the battle and its study.
People hate admitting mistakes, even tiddly littlethings. This could be a bumpy ride. ;D

HR, I finally got some time to go back and read a few of your montages but now I can't open any of your thumbnails from reply #131 and earlier. I get this 403 forbidden page and it says the page is in Danish and needs translation. Translating to English doesn't help. Thanks.
