Good to see that you posted a map with a zoomed insert showing that Benteen did not cross the LBH and was not 2 mile to left of Reno as he move down the LBH river valley. Although not accurate as to exact route it shows Benteen moving to the left and coming back in the Reno Creek drainage before reaching the LBH.

Hi. AZ Ranger, regards.
posts today are on the topic, underneath it all is the messaging between Reno and Custer, and Reno and Benteen. There are discrepencies in the records of messages sent and received. Therefore there are issues to consider and examine.
You might believe Benteen's own words on the matter.

Avast ye Schwab's - ( he's the head honcho at Davos - controversial he is - and some might say, not quite the full hundred cents).
Weekend fun time - lets solve the warriors tactical fight at Lima Bravo

You must be easily confused. The left bank of a branch of the Little Big Horn refers to the currently named Reno Creek. Clearly when he states he is 3 miles from where Reno crossed the ford is where he met a messenger (Kanipe) he is in Reno Creek. A mile further he meets Trumpeter Martin the he states a mile or mile and one half he comes in sight of the valley of the Little Big Horn. - Reno crossed the Little Big Horn at the junction with Reno Cr
- Kanipe goes to the pack train in Reno Cr
- Martin meets Benteen in Reno Cr

So, they were at that time 6 miles from the Custer fight. Maybe a 40 minute march?

What makes you think Custer was fighting when Martin reached Benteen?
Godfrey is only stating a distance which is 6 miles from the scene which is the scene they saw much later don't you think?

Six miles from the Custer Battlefield then. Benteen stated that Custer was wiped out by the time he reached Reno Hill. It's an interesting theory, no better or worse than many others. Benteen & Godfrey did not view terrain beyond Weir's Hills until later and l certainly agree . Godfrey years later was somewhat addled and.......... silly, really. He was very badly injured in a train wreck besides wounded in combat. At Lima Bravo and in combat, he was a hero and most certainly that on 25th June, he was cool, he was cautious - it may well have been his fault that Joel Elliot died.
;D Be well.

HS
That map shows Benteen in Reno Creek and not across the LBH. Once Benteen is in Reno Creek he is behind Reno and not to Reno's left.
So do we agree that Benteen never crosses the LBH on the 25th?

What is the results of your research? All I see is copying and pasting material plus advertisements. You started with Benteen to the left of Reno moving down the LBH valley what happened?

bc Page 62 in Drawing Battle lines Donahue I don't have it. I've looked at it, talked to Mike, and could have got him to sign it but I didn't pull the trigger on the $50. As I recall, there were maps that it didn't have so it wasn't a complete reference guide. As usual, hr throws out bits and pieces of things that can't hardly be read with my eyes but doesn't show the entire picture. Problem for him is that a complete picture of something destroys his theory and doesn't prove anything except that his theory is destroyed. I've been busy since last summer and haven't had any time to check in here and follow along with his games. As of the last couple weeks, I see he is still gaming everyone. bc

Does anyone read that stuff?
I have read some of this guy's posts, but never any of the junk he includes. Just from what he says, he seems to be playing solitaire with about 38 cards. Are you guys sure this isn't some sort of a [Cor]nut?
What is his point? What is that thing he puts up? Who publishes that malarky?
Best wishes, Fred.
