Great photos Tori! Thank you for sharing them. They are very moving. I especially like the third one that you posted, taken at the Reno battlefield. Is that you spreading your father's ashes?
Say, that vignetting effect is really nice. It gives the photos a timeless feel. Hope you'll put up more.

Park rangers Rob Hunter and Michael Donahue. Michael is the author of the excellent book, "Drawing Battle Lines." He gave a most interesting talk at the LBHA symposium that I attended yesterday. He showed evidence that the battle extended farther north than has been previously recognized before. He showed that every single map by a Native American battle participant depicts the ravine where the women and children fled, on the north end of the village. At least one of the maps shows some kind of battle activity taking place there. Reportedly some cartridges were found in the area a long time ago. The area was used to construct a gravel pit some years ago, when the new park road was built; and any chances of finding anything there now would be impossible. Great photos WY Man!! Makes me jealous that my own photography skills are so lacking. I have been downloading many of your photos. They are just too good to pass up. The theory that Donahue presented isn't new. Dr. Richard Fox put this forth years ago. It is an interesting part of the saga. I am on my second copy of Fox's book. Tore the first one up with over use.

Yes, Fox's book is the authoritative work on the battlefield evidence. Here are a few more photos. ******************** On the Deep Ravine Trail: New life on the old battlefield:

WOW.....those are really great!!! I really enjoy your pictures. Thanks for sharing.
I borrowed my husband's camera when I was there over anniversary weekend, but my bifocals, a small viewfinder, bright sunlight and general ineptness led to a few random pictures only I can make sense of. Mine are the kind that remind me of what I saw rather than photos like yours that show what LBH is like.

Scott,
Your pictures are just fabulous! You seriously should consider publishing a booklet of your LBH photos, I for one would purchase it!
That last picture takes me back to my younger years. If I'm not mistaken, that lovely 'flower' is a WEED, called Bull Thistle from the Asteracea family. What a wonderful award-worthy capture!
