Sasha, the Dine grandfathers are waiting for you. Naked you came from Earth the Mother. Naked you return to her. May a good wind be your road.

I just returned and heard of this horrible news. Like all the others I am very sorry for Tricia. There are many here who knew her much better, but I have read quite a lot of her posts at this message board over the years and I honor what she did for this site.

Shocking, sad news...is putting it mildly! Have been away spending time with my grandbabies, and what a heartbreaker to hear we've lost Trish! Her last few years were hell in a lot of ways, so I know she's in a better place with her Philip. God bless them both.
I have her parents' address for anyone interested. PM me.

Hi Montana,
Happy to see you back. Saddened at what has transpired while you were away, though. Her beloved Cubbies have an angel in their outfield now.
Given the sad turns that events have taken in the last year or so, I must admit I was a bit concerned at your prolonged absence. I kept telling myself that you were probably off somewhere, and bounching g'children on your knee. Glad that it was so.

Hi Michael,
Thanks for your concern. It was an enjoyable time with the little ones, but such a shock to hear about Trish. I had thought that she was doing better, though I knew there were problems.
Bless her heart, she went through so much the last year and a half. People of lesser mettle would have folded. It's so sad that she couldn't have seen her book be the success she wanted it to be. Wouldn't it be wonderful if somehow that could become a reality?
Guess it gives us all reason to pause and consider where we are in this old world. Trish was so young! Best wishes to all

Hi, Montana! It IS nice to see you back!
A couple of us would like to see Trish's book published, perhaps by one of the online services. No one has her entire book, so we need to ask her parents for it. I think we need to wait for a respectful period of time before asking, but I'm not sure how long that is.
Chuck and I made a donation to the Friends of the Little Bighorn Battlefield on behalf of the members of this board, and her parents were sent a note about the donation. At least they'll know there's a group of us who cared about Trish and miss her.

Diane,
I know that Trish was in the process of re-writing parts of her book, but think her heart attack interfered with that somewhat. I wonder if she was able to finish it? It is so sad, I just can't imagine these boards without her. She was always starting new threads and had so many ideas. She was feisty too!
Thanks also for the memorial threads (thanks DC). It was a great idea and nicely done.

I may only hope and pray that her book will be finished as a testimony to her life and all that she stood for. If there is anything I can do please let me know.

Oh no. This is terribly sad news to read upon my first visit to the board for many months.
Trish was a unique and integral part of proceedings here, and hers is an irreplaceable loss. Old messages from her which still sit on my message centre have now become particularly poignant in light of the knowledge that there will be no more.
As others have said, she carried off the Leyton Maclean persona to perfection, and it was something of a disappointment to discover that 'he' was not a patrician Southern gen'lman of the old school. But Trish herself was a wonderful character in her own right. Probably (well, almost certainly!) more of a liberal in her outlook than I, she was someone I could appreciate as being genuinely passionate about her beliefs and who represented the best of the values of those who grew up in the '60's and '70's who wanted above all to see a fairer, more equitable, world.
She had, of course, in recent years faced more than her fair share of personal tragedy and despite the remarkably brave face which she presented to the world through these boards, it may well be that she died less of a weak heart than a broken one. And although she was far too young to have left this world I hope that in death she has found a deserved peace and tranquility with her loved ones.
Via con Dios, Leyton.
