My current favorite Custer fiction: American Woman, by R. Garcia y Robertson. I know nothing about the author, just ran into the book on the internet, and enjoyed it very much. Historical fiction is fun. Sorry, I just can't like Benteen very much, though better than Reno.

There is no reason why you should apologize for not liking Benteen, or anyone else for that matter. Your feelings are your own, and you are certainly entitled to them, especially if they are based on things you know, or think you do, about the person. Nobody can ask you to prove it, when it comes to feelings.

Hey Jes. The army started using ssn's in 1969. I'm confused as to how you were classified 4f in 65 the reclassified in 72 or 73 as things wound down. Normally you sign in at the difac with a name and command. The only people paying for anything would be the officers and they normally don't eat in the same facility. However it's command dictated. If you were using the last 4 of your SSN to sign for meals it was post 69 and most likely in conus. Yes there are allot of people out there that are FOS. But a question about how you signed for your meals is not by any means an indicator.
