Craaazeee--
You all have the Boston Massacre ... we've got the Pitcher's Mound Jinx to add to the Goat and the Black Cat. Before the end of this season, we'll be calling up pitchers from A-ball; the Cubs have about depleted--and sent to the DL--AA West Tenn ...
How I hate the Evil Empire! My only hopes are now 1) the Reds win the Central, and 2) The White Sox are kept outta the playoffs. Go, Tigers!

Thank you for the compliments about the website, hammerhead!
I still have a long way to go in compiling information, but I try to do a bit whenever I can. As you know, the information about the people involved in the battle seems endless!
I appreciate your sharing your almost lifelong fascination with LBH and hope you will now post regularly. I think you're our only board member living in Spain.

HI Diane, please bear with my slow inability to answer but i keep trying to find my way around the site. I really admire the way you ladies(Elizabeth) get involved with these issues. My wife is fed up after 20 years of marriage of me running to tell her of new snippets of information Ive acquired about LBH over the years.I also like medieval history especially War of the Roses and the Zulu wars. So i have a wide interest in history. so if anyone needs any help in these areas i will only be too willing. by the way that person who was really rude with the one word questions should be shot you really showed him\her what a rude person they were and you treated their questions with such dignity good on yer. thanks again HAMMERHEAD

Thanks again for the compliment, hammerhead, but I don't remember an exchange of one-word replies.
Thankfully, most people on these boards are polite even when disagreeing with great passion but, as with most groups of people, there's always one who is the exception.

Hello Tony -- and thanks for the compliment! Truth is, the more I (try to) learn about all this, the more I discover I don't know. But that's part of the fun, I suppose ...

I'm sorry, Jose! I'm very glad to have you here. As far as I know, you are our only Spaniard as Tony is not Spanish.
Thank you for correcting me!

Hi,
Although I have posted a few times I don't believe I have introduced myself. I first became interested in LBH when I saw 'They Died with their Boots on' when I was a kid back in the 1960's - and was immediately hooked. Later I saw 'Custer of the West' when first released and have vague memories of a TV series - 7th Cavalry? I think it was called.
In time I read everything I could find on the battle and in 2004 finally got to visit the battlefield. The sheer scale of the battlefield, the terrain, etc. blew my mind. I left scratching my head, with more questions than answers.
Before you ask, I HATE baseball. I saw the Padres play the Expos back in 1987 and have never been so bored in all my life!!!

Alan,
Welcome! The 7th was comprised of krauts, brits and italians...but I never heard of any soccer games breaking out at the fort.
