Several months ago, a number of us pooled resources together to order high-resolution scans of photographs from the Smithsonian Institution. Each scan costs $50 but by us all contributing, we each got a great CD with lots of images for less. I think everyone was pleased with what they received.
I am getting ready to order a number of photographs of Lakota by D. S. Mitchell and Private Charles Howard from 1877. Anyone interested in participating again?

I ´ve been waiting for that call...  Ephriam, put me on the list, please. I am most interested in the Mitchell photos of Rocky Bear, Washington Enlisted Man, 6 Feather, Walking Cane, Money and Feather Head. I have the other portraits in low quality, so high-resolution scans of them would be fine also. Thanks Dietmar |

I am finally ready to order some of the D.S. Mitchell 1877 Lakota portraits from the Smithsonian. If you would like to contribute to this project, you can send $55 (that will cover one scan plus postage for the CD). Depending upon how many people participate, that is how many images we will all receive. I will throw in a couple of new images that I have already paid!
Please send your payments as soon as possible.

That's right. Using www.paypal.com, send US$55.00 to LBHA@cox.net. PayPal allows you to use credit cards, which I can't accept otherwise, and it will convert EuroDollars and other currencies. I will acknowledge your payment and send a check to Ephriam for the total collected. I believe eight people said they would contribute (depending on the cost), and I've already received money from two (three, including myself). If you want to pay by check or money order, e-mail Ephriam so he can send you his mailing address. Diane |
