I ordered it this evening from Amazon. I was going to wait for it to come out as an ebook but decided I couldn't wait. The book I am currently reading is so frustrating, I need a break from it.

Beth,
Someone told me Amazon will ship on November 14; don't know how true that is. If you had ordered from the publisher, they would have shipped it immediately... but Amazon has free shipping.
Anyway... thank you. I hope you enjoy it. Remember something: you will need several bookmarks. There are twenty chapters, most of which will refer you to a timeline-- or, in some cases, multiple timelines-- at the top of the chapter. To read the text with continuity, you will be referring constantly to the timelines. To make it a little easier, a number of the events in some timelines will be shaded a light-gray. Those shaded entries will refer to events taking place at those times in other areas of the battle.
And, Beth: thank you for all your very kind words.
Best wishes, Fred.

I know, I know, I should have ordered it from the publisher. This is going to sound extremely lazy but I didn't feel like going upstairs and getting the old credit card information and the publisher didn't take paypal so I went to Amazon where I have an account. Delivery is supposed to be between the 9th to the 14th but when you consider I wasn't expecting to be reading it until January, I can wait a few more days. Besides the time will give me a chance to finish the above stated frustrating book. It's an Appendices and Bibliography so it has good background information that I need to read but I find the fact the author keeps inserting his (strong) opinion in the middle of his sources beyond annoying. I'm fine with an author's personal opinion in a book. It's part of the price of the book. I find it frustrasting though in an appendices.
Fred I am looking forward to your book because of the timeline aspect. In my fantasy trip to LBH I would have troop of reenactors(just of the people who were there and wrote or testified about their experiences). I would ask them to tell me exactly what they were doing and when based on their earliest writing about the events and then their testimony.

I did call, I did get it. The mail lady carried in he veh. for a day and never left the card. I called McFarland they followed up with USPS, told me it was at the post office and the lady had tried to deliver, not so, but it was in the Post Office. Enough said my mail lady has screwed up before. As I write this I have just finished the acknowledgements. It was all I could do not to read " Into the Tunnel" first!
Production work is first class. I know I will enjoy.

I got the book via Kindle yesterday and find it hard to put down. I'll let you know if there are any differences between the Kindle and the paper version.

"Gasp," as well you should. Much passion and hard work went into this project. You have already read my post about a gift, The Times, and O'Reilly. So there is no need to thank me again. There are two things I need to add. Why I have called it a gift. In the preface you stated "It is imperative to remember that when dealing with context, one must fit theory into context, and not attempt to fit context into theory." You fulfilled that throughout. You also showed no agenda, admirable, as I know you have firm opinions.
Lastly, one question, Appendix B: Vegetation, my wife asked what variety of cedar, I could have given her chapter and verse on Buffalo Grass. But, alas, regarding cedar I could only tell it was not like ours.
I have pretty much squeezed two readings out and know I will use as a source for future reference.
Regards, Tom
