For those of you who care, it appears "Fred's new book" is now something of a priority with the publisher. The light can be seen at the end of the tunnel. For those interested, beware. Old beliefs, old theories, old ideas are going to be threatened.
Sorry for being away so long. So much going on here, I wasn't even able to get to the LBHA conference in Winchester, VA: $100 shot to hell.
Hope all of you are well. I shall return. (Who said that?)
Best wishes, Fred.

Dracula. but that was before the drove a stake in his heart and soaked him in my wife's Marinara, loaded with garlic.

Nice to hear from you Fred, I know you will return, but don't walk though the surf to do it, as you may get your trousers wet.

Glad I could not drive to Winchester this week, as I have been a homebody, out of need. Congrats. I will have a shot of single-malt tonight rather than the beer.
Regards, Tom

Tom: I think Fred was trying to go for something original as a title. War and Peace, Gone With The Wind, and Holy Scripture were all taken

It is tentatively titled, The Strategy of Defeat, but they aren't calling it that... yet. Don't know why. The publisher continues to reference it by its sub-title, "A Military and Timing Analysis of the Battle of the Little Big Horn." Personally, I think the former is a little catchier.
Best wishes, Fred.

Glad you updated on the book Fred. Now don't take offense but the title Strategy of Defeat sounds like something Custer was fully qualified to author!
Personally I don't care much what the title is, I'll just look forward to reading it. Best, c.

Best wishes, Fred. Tell them I will buy 5 with the 1st title. Chris I will send you one, Chuck, Colt, and AZ, you too. DC you are out. Mac, Ian, WO, I will buy your beer if you meet Fred at the LBH next year. This only holds true if we get autograph in the book. WO, Mac, Ian, sorry I will not pay freight, and you need to come to Montana. I have a feeling WO's beer bill will cost me more than 3 books! Regards, Tom

Fred, why don’t you call it; “A Military and Timing Analysis of the Battle of the Little Big Horn and the Strategy of Defeat”
Tom I would like to share a beer with you, you seem to like your “rock ‘n’ blues” so we could swap notes on guitarist, one American guy called “Skunk Baxter” is among my top 10 US axe men.

First off, there was no problem with the strategy. It was sound, proven so by the fact it eventually worked. What was a recipe for defeat were the operational concepts and the tactics employed, so I believe in all seriousness that Strategy of Defeat in itself is a misnomer, not that I have a vote
I think the title "A Military Analysis of the Battle of Little Big Horn" which itself MUST include a study of timing (therefore a given) says everything that need be said.
Of course a subtitle such as "He Has Been So Wrong For So Long, What Makes You Think He Will Be So Right This Afternoon". A little long perhaps?

John Gray’s book; “Custer's Last Campaign: Mitch Boyer and the Little Bighorn Reconstructed” Although enjoyable is a bit too long on the title stakes.
But one of my book(s) that still remains unpublished, was titled “Retreat Hell” World War Two Wargame Rules From 1920 to 1950” takes some beating, I intended splitting it into one large folder/binder type case, with 24 smaller rule books with one for each nation, so that each player could have his own rule book when Wargamming.
My second effort was title “Widnes the Cup King’s 1970 to 1980” was two thirds through when someone published a similar book, so I shelved it.

Sweet, just finished that interview the site kept blinking in and out, but I got it all. Maybe the blinking was me as it is now about 4:40am, nice job.
