Somehow I don't believe that the President of the United States is directly or indirectly involved in the selection of covers for the United States Marines. Of course, according to the New York Post, when someone farts in public in the greater United States, including Alaska and Hawaii, plus associated Commonwealths and Territories it is the current President's fault. I wish these folks would grow up. After all he soundly beat his two election opponents. DC only weak minds and un-reconstructed neo-confederates believe this tripe about the Commander in Chief. Big boys and girls know it is nonsense, a nonsense created by the likes of Murdock and his minions. Like they say, Obamacares when Obamafarts.<g> bc

I don’t know if you guys are aware of the amount of WIA your forces have suffered, you will know about the KIA though; U.S. Forces in Afghanistan: 1.760 fatalities and 19.080 wounded. Ian. It may well depend on what TV channel Americans watch. Conservative leaning channels prominently feature advertisements by organizations such as Wounded Warriors that pull no punches about the need to be aware of and help those who come home with terrible injuries to body and soul. For a modest donation, listeners can join the effort to help these folks who gave so much. AK I've seen the commercials and I have to wonder where their money is going and who all it is helping. They may be legit but when they spend a lot of money on TV trying to raise money, I just wonder. I read some stuff about this Susan G. Komen for the cure organization. They sue the other people raising money for breast cancer who want to do a walk saying they have trademarked and others can't use it. I read about the results of one of their board meetings where they have more money than they can spend on cancer research so they give it out for the flimsiest of programs. They don't need any money from me. bc

The Post and FoxNews lied. Go figure. From the Marine's Facebook page: Despite what you may have seen in other headlines, there will be no change to the male uniform cover. Straight from the Commandant of the Marine Corps Gen. James F. Amos: 1. The President in no way, shape or form directed the Marine Corps to change our uniform cover. 2. We are looking for a new cover for our female Marines for one overriding reason: the former manufacturer went out of business. 3. The Marine Corps has zero intention of changing the male cover. www.facebook.com/marinesNow, why would Fox and the Post do zero research (they apparently never asked the Marines) on a story like this? And isn't this the sort of thing that could upset people unnecessarily? And who was their "source" in the Marines? Ask Colbert: jezebel.com/heres-colberts-hilarious-takedown-of-the-marines-new-1452129960

And isn't this the sort of thing that could upset people unnecessarily? And who was their "source" in the Marines? Thank God! But if you are looking for answers to the questions above, go to the other board and ask SGT Griffith, he of the on-line degrees. He knows all about "zero research," lying, and "sources." Still, thank heavens for that. The Army has done enough damage to its beautiful "blues" without the Marine Corps sullying a classic. Best wishes, Fred.

AK: It was the headline for this story in the New York Post, that I found objectionable, and I believe DC did as well. It incorrectly linked the President of the United States with this affair, and it was a grossly unfair thing to do, and was done both with malice of purpose and forethought, by that newspaper, and by extension its publisher and owner. The real story is that the company that made the female covers is no longer in business, and it was an opportunity to see if the headgear required, or it was desirable to redesign before a new contract was issued. That is a far cry from the take away of the Post article which had President Obama wanting the Marines to now and forevermore supposedly wear hats designed for girls. In short it was bull crap and should be called such, regardless in my opinion, if it disrupts any form or any subject on a form. There are lies, but this was a damned lie and they should be called on it.

There are lies, but this was a damned lie and they should be called on it. There are plenty of places to find discussions of "bullcrap" associated with this presidency. As we speak, the subject of "lies" is hot and heavy. For those discussions, I'll go there. I'd rather not do that here.
