First, now that it has been established that McGee was in the 7th Cavalry, perhaps these posts about him should be moved to that thread. I can move topics but not individual messages. Sorry!

I'm disillusioned. I thought you can do anything.

First, now that it has been established that McGee was in the 7th Cavalry, perhaps these posts about him should be moved to that thread. I can move topics but not individual messages. Sorry! *sigh* Oh well, I will copy & paste them over sometime this weekend. By the way, Tom is going to provide a copy of McGee's story. Just a note. While at Leavenworth, I did find as Greene indicated that McGee was one of the wounded on 09/30/1877. Also, a little digging and comparing reveals that five or six of the men wounded that day also returned to Ft. Abraham Lincoln on 10/16/1877. Sorry about being general but my notes are in the truck in preparation to getting the devil out of Dodge today. I will be out of pocket for at least a week beginning Wednesday as the plans are currently set; driving to New Mexico for work and then either on down to El Paso for more work or over to Phoenix. I hope Phoenix as I have never been over that country and would be following the old Butterfield Stage route. Be good, Billy
