There seem to be a number of errors in the text accompanying the photographs, including the ubiquitous and apparently obligatory sword. There were only 210 men with Custer, and there were many more than 3 Colt's recovered from the other dead, several of whom were killed on the Reno/Benteen defense area. There were not nine men killed on Reno's Timber Line, and Spencers were not carried by the troops [although the Indians had a few].
Mr. Harrison is obviously portraying Custer in his later years [had he lived] when he had put on a few pounds and become a little grizzled and grey. But he DOES look good for his age.

Gordie, I agree with you about the many errors in the text. I find it hard to believe a Spencer was left under the body of a dead cavalryman--what type of longarm did Tom Custer have? I thought I remember reading he had a Spencer at the battle-perhaps I'm wrong.

Yeah, people are always coming up with swords...a Civil War reenactor emailed me a few years ago, with info about a sword his friend claimed to have found on the battlefield, inscribed to Lt. Somebody-or-other. I don't remember the name; it was nobody in the 7th that day. And speaking of reenactors, doesn't the dress belt look spiffy with the buckskins?
