The question below is from a website visitor. I know it has been previously mentioned that Keogh's company colors were recovered later. Are there other instances of company guidons being recovered? The regimental colors were not taken to LBH, correct?Did the 7th lose its colours at the Little Big Horn? If so, were they recovered?

Diane:
Custer’s personal flag was never recovered (maybe the Cheyenne have it still today)?
The regimental standard never went into battle and was probably left behind with the pack train.
Keogh’s guidon was found in American Horses’ village after the Battle of Slim Buttes.
Both the regimental standard and Keogh’s guidon are in the archives at LBH. One project I’d like the Friends of LBH Battlefield to become involved in is the restoration of both, however, I’m afraid the Keogh guidon may be beyond repair.

Didn't Yellow Nose capture a company flag? Any idea where that ended up?
