Discovered this forum by accident while looking for ammunition expenditure statistics at LBH. Odd that it never came up in any google searches before with the Littl bore Bighorn or similar terms in it.
Retired Armored Cavalry Officer with service in the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment along the East-West German border from 1977-1980 as a tank platoon leader, cavarly platoon leader and in the 1st Infantry Division in which I seerved in three tank battalions, all three brigades, and the divison staff from 1980-1984 in 1-34 Armor/1st Brigade as Battalion Maintenance Officer, Battalion S-4, and a company commander, on the Division Staff as the Armor Training Officer, then 4-37 Armor/2nd Brigade as S-3 Air and a company commander, then from 1984-1987 in the 3rd Brigade (1st Infantry Division (Forward) as Compay Commander and S-3Ar in 2-37 Armor, and then again from 1990-1992 in the Division Headquarters for Desert Storm as an Operation Officer, and then as the S-4 as a Major, after which I left active duty and went to work in the Defense Simulation industry in various roles in scenario design, administration, observer-controller, and in development of the Warfighter Simulation and other components for the US Army as well as a stint in the J-7 wargaming division of the Joint Staff in development. The years not in the 1st ID, I taught ROTC at CAL State San Bernarino.
Began playng wargames in third grade (1963) ith Avalon-Hills U-boat and just kept at it. My other hobbies are bulding plastic models of all types, and studying military history as well as other subjects as my catch my attention ranging from anthropoogy to quantum physics (but a very very elementy undrestading of it). I also developand publish board wargames, first one modeling the War of the Worlds movie from 1953, several scenarios for the GMT game Main Battle Tank (MBT), and am working on one covering the 11th ACR covering force battle as planned in the time period 1977-1980.
As a cavalryman have been interested in the LBH for a long time, but had really embraced it in the last twoor three years in preparation for a trip to study the battlefield in June, which has naturally been postponed till at least next year. I own two wargames about the LBH and one about the Rosebud.
The forum looks intersting and informative and looking forward to observing the forum for a bit before fully engaging.
