I just finished reading one of my Christmas gifts - Waterloo: Four Days That Changed Europe's Destiny, by Tim Clayton. I highly recommend to anyone that is interested in learning more about that particular battle or the Napoleonic wars in general. It is meticulously researched and engagingly written, providing a tremendous amount of detail, not just about the battle itself but of the events leading up to it, including the preliminary battles of Ligny and Quatre Bras that are often overlooked. Of particular interest to me was the wealth of background information provided about various key players (in some cases down to individual company level officers and NCOs), their personalities, etc.
