Here is that Japanese flag I told you all about last week, it was found in Singapore 1945, the bloke took the photo this morning and thank fully he missed out my dishevelled face, as I had been working since 7;30 AM and the image was took at 2;00 PM. He also gave me the .50 round took from a P-38, which he said was still live and contained powdered mercury. Ian.

Perhaps powdered magnesium? (Mercury is a liquid) If so, it is probably a tracer round. This might help -

Hi Jodak, the bullet is a bronze colour and the cartridge case a darker brown or a copper/bronze colour.

If there is no coloring on the bullet itself, it will be a standard ball round. Plain Jane round.
