I tried to post this earlier today, it must have gone to the nether world. Will try again. We often here about the front line fighters, these guys get very little press, the Quartermaster Corps. The museum is just down the road from me as well as the US Woman's Army Museum.

Regards, Tom Looks like a cool place. My niece works at a Foundation at Fredricksburg. Is that in your neck of the woods too?

The Transportation Corps Museum is not all that far from you either Tom, at Fort Eustis.
Every time I hear that blowhard on the other board blather about his illusion of cavalry mindedness gain at an ROTC dinner sitting next to his mythical cavalry colonel, I think of people like LTC John Upshur Dennis Page 52nd Trans. Bn. and SP Donald Evans of the Medical Platoon, 2-12 Infantry, 4th Infantry Division, it makes a lie out of everything he says.

Did that include ammo (50-70 or 45-55)? A dumb question I guess, but I have a friend with a bullet that was found there, and I was wondering if the depot was only used in 1876. regards, LBM

Found ammo for .45 colt .45 S&W, and a version that would fit both. Dog skeletons, sardine cans, and sundry stuff that may have not have been mentioned. I believe it was used again in 1880 again against Sioux and 1887 against Crow's.
