Lt. Col. Edward Saylor and Lt. Col. Robert L. Hite, both Doolittle Raiders, have passed away recently. Saylor died in January and Hite on March 29. They were along with Col. Richard E. Cole and Staff Sergeant David J. Thatcher, were the last living members of the raid in April of 1942. They sadly are not able to receive the Congressional Gold Medal on April 15 in Washington then present it on April 18 — the 73rd anniversary of the raid — to the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force along with the two surviving Raiders. As Captain Benteen said in one of his letters to Goldin about another veteran, "Peace to his ashes" I echo those words to these gentlemen. Regards Dave
