Very interesting.
Can you imagine the logistics of transporting those two US documents overseas?

Ideas are the things that men live by, and kings and depots tremble when those ideas are given voice.

Ian Churchill had no other source to approach other than the US. We literally became the "arsenal of democracy" as Roosevelt was committed to saving Great Britain and her allies against the Axis Powers. Looking back to actions of the US in 1940-1941 I see a nation resolved to fight evil in the world. Very similar to the US actions in 2003 against Iraq. Later after over 57,000 casualties and more than 6,700 KIA since 2001 we are a war weary country with no consensus of direction. The world is facing terrorist threats of unimagined technological sophistication and additional nuclear powers. ISIS and the other groups use social media for all purposes. Montrose, WO and our other combat vets would be the sources for ideas and plans for combating this evil. So far we do not seem to have a plan that is working todate. And if it need be said, I am proud that Roosevelt made those decisions in 1940-41 and the bond between our countries is so strong. Regards Dave
