The girls' will have a bad weather day tomorrow. We're expecting ice which is a shame because the redbud are just starting to bloom. On the other hand our temperater dropped 20 degrees in 90 miles. If we are on the tail end of this event someone is going to be getting very bad weather.

We have had snow off and on today, and I don't think we had more than one day without it in the past 8 or 10. Nothing much in the way of snow but the temp will be at 3 below tonight, and it may warm to 40 by Sunday or Monday.

It will be a good nice to curl up with a good book--unless the ice brings powerlines down.

Me too. It's costing me a lot for propane to help out with global warming since the weather is not helping.

Heading to SC to hunt pigs, really look forward to the sleet during drive. If you don't hear from me by end of day Monday, oh well.

Tom to be on the safe side, why don't you stay at home and buy some pork, bacon or ham from the the local butchers, that way you are safe and the poor pigs are safe too.
It’s starting to warm up slightly over here, not T-Shirt and Shorts weather but nice enough to tend to the garden and clear all the dead stuff, an all ready for spring, our garden has two phases first we have the crocuses and bluebells along with the apple tree full of pink blossom and later we have a multitude of colour with plants from fuchsia’s to Honeysuckles.
Trying to put out some nest boxes to lure in some blue tits, that’s if our resident robin doesn’t chase them off.
Ian.

Beth, did the Austin area get snow and ice last night? Woke up this morning in Dallas to snow and ice all over the roads. Slow going on the roads this morning. Reminded me of typical winter weather up in Amarillo.

Tom Hope you have a great hunt but be careful around those tushes!! The damn hogs are nearly as bad as kudzu in that they are so prolific. We have 1" of ice and 1" of sleet on the ground and roads and no one is going anywhere for a couple of days. May have single digit temps tonight not counting wind chill. Regards Dave

Reminded me of typical winter weather up in Amarillo. We had ice, no snow--or at least in the area I live in which is in the north up by Pfluggerville and Round Rock. It's my understanding most of the area didn't even get the ice. The elevated highways were a mess though.

Tom you may not have them in the states but I think they are one of the best garden birds in Britain plus they are one of my favorites and probably too small to blast with a rifle; Ian.

I hang out a couple of bird feeders and top them up regularly with nuts, the small birds love them as the larger ones cannot access them which is good because if I just throw the feed out on to the path the larger birds (Pigeons, blackbirds and thrushes) bully them away and scoff the food, so this way the little guys can enjoy a free lunch and the others can eat the stale bread that we throw out.
Ian.
