‘’Death in Paradise’’ was very good Fred, I have never been a big fan of Ben Miller but he makes the role his own, he is your typical ‘’English man abroad’’ walking around with a suit and tie and drinking tea when its 100 degrees, not that I do those things of course, I am a T-shirt and shorts and a pint of cold Lager man myself.

Honeysuckle Weeks, not a bad name when you see what Honor Blackman's character was called in the Bond film Gold Finger, ‘’girl thingy Galore’’.
I have Honeysuckle’s in my garden, they are great climbers.

Honeysuckle Weeks, not a bad name.... What's the matter with you guys?! i think that's a marvelous name! And yes, both she and Milner are in the post-war # 6 set, at least the first episode. By the way, PBS aired a behind-the-scenes thing with Weeks, Milner/whatever-his-real-name is, Horowitz (the creator of the series) and some others. I missed part of it, but didn't see Kitchen in it. I understand he is very much like his role in private life; is married, children... very quiet, very private. I like him a lot. Best wishes, Fred.

Yes Fred, and when you see her off screen she is an English Rose (well Welsh Rose, as she was born in Wales). Ian.

She does a very good job with her character. Weeks that is. My favorite of all the sidekicks is Sharon Small.

I like Kelly Reilly in the series ‘’Above Suspicion’’ lovely but as hard as nails. Having said that the lady in the one Fred mentioned ‘’Death in Paradise’’ (Sara Martins) in very good too.
I better stop now before I get into trouble (with my better half), but you know the old saying ‘’just because you are on a diet doesn’t mean you can’t look at the menu’’.

Stana Katic as Beckett in Castle. Don't know if you get Castle in the UK. If you ever do though, you must watch all five seasons (so far) in sequence to see how that relationship develops.

I have seen ‘’Castle’’ advertised on trailers but I have never seen it.
Talking about Castles, have you managed to get ‘’Battle Castle’’ presented by Dan Snow? Well worth a watch.
Chuck, when I first read your post I thought you meant ‘’The Last Castle’’ with Robert Redford.

Ian: Castle is a writer of detective fiction who, like Conan Doyle, gets tired of his long time character Derek Storm, and is in search of a new inspiration. Chance brings him together with Kate Beckett, a New York City homicide detective, and from her he finds inspiration for his new character Nicki Heat. All does not go well at first between Castle, in many ways a boy who refuses to grow up, because the process it not nearly as much fun as living through your own fantasy. Beckett, is a dead serious no nonsense detective. The supporting cast is quite good. The stories have twists and turns to the point where it is difficult to pinpoint the murderer. Upon retrospection though, the clues are always there and you come away with - why didn't I see that. Once person of note in the cast is Susan Sullivan, who has been around American TV for most of my life.
It might be well to watch Stana Katic while Sue is not home.

Chuck, I will see if the series is repeated on the I-Player, they have full seasons of all the different TV Series from the present to the past, as I would like to watch it from the beginning. Fred; here is the full ‘’Behind the scenes of Foyle’s War’’, I hope it is the one you part watched: linkIan.

Chuck there was a movie on yesterday afternoon (TMC Channel), it was called ‘’I Killed Wild Bill Hickok’’ and was made in 1956, if you see it avoid it like the plague, I could have done better with my mobile phone and a couple of guys out of the pub.

Fred: There is absolutely nothing wrong with your eyes. Did you see her as the vampire in the third of the Librarian series. Those three movies were like Allan Quartermain on steroids.
Ian: You have not yet viewed such visual blight as seeing John Wayne as Singing Sandy.

Oh yes I have Chuck, that movie is older than Gods Dog. linkYou would think with all this CGI knocking about that they could do a decent movie about the BLBH, you could start the film with Custer and crew at the Crow nest and take it from there. They could create the thousands of Indians like they did in the movie 300, the only trouble is ‘’How To End It’’, when we get past the scene were Martini leaves with the note we are stumped. What we could do with then is a good movie about ‘’the battle of the bulge’’ just in time for its anniversary next year. Ian.

The Bulge is much to large in scope for an all encompassing movie I think. Battleground with Van Johnson, back in 49 was very good, and I thought better than the Bulge segment of Band of Brothers. The scene(s) with Johnson and the two "gifted" eggs is indicative of an infantryman's life. A depiction of St Vith, which plays a more important role in the battle is long overdue, but I would like to see a good one, not one with M-1 tanks in the role of a Sherman.
If you could get a couple of good screen writers, along with a first class casting director, a remake of Bugles in the Afternoon, expanding the ending, would make a very good fictional presentation, but Ray Milland as Kern Schafter is a bit beyond reason, although he was superb in Dial M For Murder.
