Actually I would prefer His Royal Highness, Prince Charles of Colorado, but it is a little hard to remember so what Ian says will do just fine. Now my wife still calls me Your Colonelness, and when she is really pissed (that means something a little different over here) she demotes me to Captain America.

Chuck, that does have a ring to it ‘’Prince Charles of Colorado’’. My older brother’s used to call me the ‘’Duke of Oilcloth’’ when I was a kid, but being the youngest of ten I was a little spoilt.

Actually Ian, I got promoted when my wife was elected. It used to be The Duke of Security, and the Fountain Plantations. That was kind of cumbersome as well. King, has a nice ring to it, don't you think.

Okay guys - now I know what to call you - if you will help me! Whats the Oglala word for pricks? Ian - you may need to explain the English meaning of that word to Chuck.

And by that you mean what? I'm still smiling but that can rapidly change.

My deepest apologies - I did the unforgivable and didn't read your postings proper - I thought we were back in the Revolutionary War period and you were having a go at me with all this Lord and Lady stuff. I have re-read all of this thread and I made an honest though crude and rude mistake and I hope you will accept my apologies unreservedly. This is for you Ian as well as Chuck. PEACE EH! And thank you for your comments about Wigan. At this moment I feel like a ce (Lakota for penis).

No harm, no foul. I had a fellow officer friend, a real Russian Prince, or at least the third generation removed version of one, who used to refer to me on occasion as The Sultan of Chantilly, a place I lived at the time. In return he was dubbed the Duke of Alexandria, and for the same reason.
Royalty is something generally admired here. There was recently a PBS series on the homes of the good, great, and famous families of England. It received the second to top rating for the year for the entire network, next to Downton Abbey, which was a drama, as I am sure you know, set in the same general venue.
There are no closer nations on earth then the United States, the UK, and the collective countries of The Commonwealth. We share common bond, common traditions of governance, commonality of language, and common respect for one another. A ship modeling friend of mine in the UK just yesterday unveiled his latest work, what we call a "what if" or "whiff" he named American Trooper, a fictional transport, named in honor of American Soldiers sent to the UK in WWII for common cause.
Sir Winston is a particular favorite of ours, being either first or second on our list of most admired. Two of our destroyers DDG80 and 81 further honor that bond, being named Roosevelt and Winston S. Churchill.
I must be off presently in part to offer prayers, as we do every Sunday, for the Archbishop of Canterbury.

Thank you for forgiving me my 'Custer moment' You are right what you say about the bond between our two countries - it is a deep bond which reaches back into our shared heritage and values. Thank you for your words. Just heard that actor August Schellenberg has succumbed to cancer - a sad loss. He was in Black Robe and The New World, both of which I have seen and he played the roles with grace and dignity. R I P August.

Hi Oglallah (do you want me to call you by this name?), I don’t know how you thought that we were having a pop at you, Chuck and I were having a laugh with each other which is par for the course for us two.
Anyway that’s been cleared up and no harm done. Wigan Warriors had a tough game last night against Catalan Dragons, I hope you have O’loughlin back for Saturday otherwise you are gonna struggle.
Ian.

Do either of you have any intel on a UK series called "Silk". It starts on Masterpiece Mystery next week, three two hour episodes.
For Fred. Series VII of Foyle's War start in three weeks. Know you enjoy it. Don't think it is on DVD yet.
Turned off my first ever British Mystery last night "The Lady Vanishes" Could not make it through the first half hour. Disjointed and convoluted in presentation I thought, on what I remember as a decent story.

Series VII of Foyle's War start in three weeks. Know you enjoy it. Don't think it is on DVD yet. Chuck, I went to order it a month or so ago from Amazon and got only the pre-order business. Just received an "alert" from them; it seems they may have it already. If so, I'm ordering it this week. We connected Apple TV and have to start looking into this Netflix business. I think for $7.99 a month you can download anything you want, TV, movies.... If so, my DVD-buying days may be numbered, though there will inevitably be exceptions. Thanks for the heads-up. By the way, have you seen their "Murder in Paradise," I think it's called? Kinda cool. "Murder..." or "Trouble..." or some such. Best wishes, Fred.

Chuck, from what I remember ‘’Silk’’ was not bad, it’s about the legal profession, as you would guess by the title. I have the three new ‘’Foyle’s War’’ episodes on my hard drive, not seen them yet but to be honest up to now I have never seen a bad episode, so I think that these three will be the same.
Me and Sue watched ‘’The Lady Vanishes’’ a while ago, we decided to view it on what was a rather boring Sunday evening, it got even more boring when it ended.
The new series of ‘’Whitechapel’’ starts here soon, I don’t know if it has ever been shown in the states.
Ian.

I think Whitechapel was or is on BBC America. Have not watched it. Caught a new one (for me) imported from Canada called The "something can't remember" Detective. Set in Toronto in the early part of the 20th Century, very early part. Decent. Don't know if it is still in production in Canada. I'll watch it again on Saturday and perhaps I will then remember the full name.
Big news on this side of the pond is what will Beckett say to a marriage proposal by Castle, and how will Ziva end her tenure on NCIS. My guess is yes to the first but will attempt to keep it a secret from "Iron" Gates, and Ziva will fall in love over the summer recess and put up her pistol and badge for more domestic pursuits. I am usually wrong, so don't put any money on my predictions.
Is that actress named Honeysuckle something or other in Foyle's post war adventures? Wonder what her parents had against her naming her Honeysuckle?
