I learned of this board from a colleague on Civil War Talk. My great grandfather's brother was Private Richard Dorn/Doran who was KIA on June 26 at the Reno-Benteen Battlefield. He was in Capt. MacDougal's Co. B and the pack train. According to Walter Camp's notes of an interview of MacDougal, Dorn was killed by a sharpshooter while waking the captain.
Dorn was the son of Irish immigrants in Bonson, Michigan. His older brother served in the Union Army.
