I have nothing against any man, race, religion, or creed. I have an intense distain for stupidity promulgated by any man, of any race, any religion, or any creed. Now you can take that as you see fit.
I cannot speak to disease, other than mankinds natural immunities built up over time. Who told them to drink? Who allied themselves with those not worthy of trust?
The statutory size of the U S Army in June 1876 was 25,000 spread out over a continent. That hardly constitutes overwheming force at any one place.
The Lakota and Cheyenne got their repeating weapons such as they had, by purchase, barter, capture, or theft. What they could not do is manufacture them, or more importantly manufacture ammunition for them. Weapons are useless without a reliable supply of ammunition.
I suppose your last sentence tells us where you loyalties are, which is a shame because you take advantage of what this country, this society, this land of many who have become one, have to offer. If you ever figure out when you were born, and eventually reach retirement age, I suggest you return you Social Security check from the nation you despise. Seems only fair.

You mean you have nothing against other races as long as they keep in their appointed places in your world? I'm off Rez and work for a living, but those Indians who do get a government check are still cheated. I don't own a casino either, Hondo. What about you ? At one of those work at home on the computer jobs like Sean Hannity advertises on his AM radio show ?

No, I am liberal to the core. I spent my life serving this country, and up until I was unfortunate enough to meet you I have never had cause to question that decision. You are off the reservation all right, but not in the way you mean. You know, you really are a stupid racist jackass. This conversation is over.

You know. You really are a stupid racist jackass. This conversation is over. What's the matter, I'm not one of those Uncle Tomahawks or 'Teutonic wannabe Indians' you're use to dealing with ? See ya, or else some more of your sock-puppies, Brittles.

I'm wondering if an Indian called a white person here a jackass, would he or she be reprimanded ?
Of course after such an exchange with a jackass like Quincannon/Brittles, I guess that makes me a hostile someone to be shunned and treated like a second class citizen.
Nothing has really changed from the 19th century, eh ?

Tonto, Magua?
Yes Pellethie, these people are fictitious, rather like Hondo the guy you have mentioned previously, and that’s my point, the only native Americans we as kids saw were from things like TV, movies and novels, plus books of course dealing with American history, but again we only read the ones about battles etc., not about the American Indians as such, we were only kids at the time.
I don’t think Chuck was detrimental to the Indian people Pellethie, I think we have a few new posters here and in the past some of these newbies have turned out to be people who have previously been band for stirring up trouble, like the Strange guy mentioned in another thread, so don’t take it personally.

Don't mistake new User Id's for new people. I don't think there is anyone new here.

eh ?
Not something I hear much used on the Rez.
When was the last time Brittles posted on the other board yet this "new" poster knows to associate them together.
Seems ISP would help to resolve theses issues.

All this discrepancy’s over birthdays can cause people to be a little sceptical, I hope you are what you say you are Pellethie, otherwise you could be backed into a corner and be reviled as a Quisling. But if you are genuine you have nothing to worry about, and you will find this a very honest and sometimes brutal board, but when you do get to know folks on here you will find them very kind and helpful, but they don’t suffer fools gladly so be careful.

Just like in hunting and fishing, I do not immediately start shooting, or cast my line until becoming familiar with the new area I am in.

And Quincannon, it is unfortunate we got off to a bad start here. I hold nothing personally against you, but will not be ordered about and will stand my ground regardless if I am new here, or not.
Perhaps we can make peace and have more productive conversations. If not,
life goes on.

Fair enough.
If you would not stand your ground I would have absolutely no respect for you at all.
Here we are all equal. Each of us brings different perspectives. Different does not mean right or wrong. It means different.

I came here with an interest in the Battle of the Greasy Grass as well as... You could fool me. Thirty-two posts and I have not seen a single one about the LBH. Maybe I missed them. I would also tell you there are no bigots on this board. Good men like Dark Cloud and Quincannon chase them away rather quickly. I am delighted you have Native American blood; I wish I did. Having said that, we might all be better served with a little less acrimony and a lot more input about the LBH. As for other 19th century Americana, that can be discussed as well, only I might suggest new threads for new topics. If you give us a shot, there are some very well-rounded people here, some of whom stay for a while, then depart; and then hopefully return. "Plainsman," for example. So tell me... what do you think of Reno's retreat...? Best wishes, Fred.

Plainsman ?
You mean the fellow that no one thought about welcoming to this board aside from me ?
