Has anyone ever been to this small cemetery near White Shield, North Dakota? There are memorial markers for Bloody Knife, Bobtail Bull, and Little Brave. Does anyone know the locations of these markers within the cemetery. Are there any actual bodies in these graves? I thought at least Bloody Knife was buried at the battlefield.

The markers for these three scouts are ceremonial. None are actually buried there.
I am going up that way this week to visit family. I'll swing in there if I get a chance and post some photos. It's been quite a while since I've been there but there used to be a small utility shed at one end of the cemetery. If I remember correctly the markers to Bloody Knife, Little Brave, and Bobtail Bull are over near this shed.

I am back from North Dakota but unfortunately I was unable to stop at the Old Scouts Cemetery. I did make a sidetrack trip to Pollock, South Dakota to get a photo of the grave of packer Moses Flint.
If you decide to visit the Old Scouts Cemetery it is very easy to find. It is west of Garrison, North Dakota and east of White Shield. It's a small cemetery and you won't have any problems finding the markers.
Good luck.
Scott
