OK Plainsman. Very good. My apology above stands in spades I love it. Now what do you have to say about my ability to read and comprehend. It might not be good but it is better than yours. Plainsman.....You might want to dig a little deeper into the smallpox. You might find out how effective germ warfare was as early as the 1800s. Smallpox was better than bullets. Check it out and see what you can find,, You will be shocked. Rosebud

Understanding Plainsman's message depended upon decyphering your chicken scratch and fathoming your motivation. I admit deficiencies at both.

Tell me why the theory was wrong.
It is now 2012........Why don't you take a trip to Montana and spend a week on the Cheyenne Indian Res and see for yourself. Or the Fort Peck Res....Or the Rosebud Res in South Dakota.
Your Ideas are still in full effect. Come see for yourself or drop the subject you know so little about.
Rosebud
I have better things to do. Its Thursday so I will go golf with Custer....No not George, The 7/8 Sioux Indian with the last name of Custer. He is a kick in the ass to be around. Especially when he talks about the Custer reunions.LOL
Think I will give him Fred's book and have him pass it around on the Res to see what they think. I will have them write any notes they like or don't like and send them to Fred.
Later Rosebud

The duty of a soldier is to serve the national interests as defined by the National Command Authority. Since the United States is a hegemon, we generally support the status quo.
That is why the United Nations is in New York, and the World Bank in Washington.
I hope the NCA gets it right, and uses force only whenjustified. But its not my job to determine that. Notice every war since the All Volunteer Army was created had doctorsfor whom the Army paid for their degrees try to get out of deploying trying various just war arguments. I remember one of them used to wash my car at Leavenworth.

Will: It was the readiness to wage war, and the deterence that provides, that I was speaking of, but I think you know that already.

Rosebud: If it is 2112 as you suggest in your post above I am long dead and it no longer matters. And if it is 2112 you missed your golf date by a hundred years.
Are they in better shape than the Apache in Arizona where I have spent some time? Your not talking to an uneducated cracker, without knowledge of the current plight of the American Indian you know.

Don't waste your time and mine. They wouldn't like it; it deals only with the truth without patting anyone on the back for their brilliance. Besides, it is a military and timing analysis only. That should keep its audience in single digits. Best wishes, Fred.

Why do you off-handedly assume I need to "dig deeper"? With all due respect, Rosebud, it seems to me that your knee-jerk reaction that everybody knows less than you is a major detraction in your posts. You make some good points and I have learned from your posts, but your on-line personality leaves something to be desired.

I guess it might rub some the wrong way. I am not a person long on words so I get to the point. I mean no harm but if it bothers you. Get over it. Or don't respond. Makes me no never mind.

So then it is OK for you to present yourself as a knowledgible, but insufferable bore on occasion, and we are the ones who are supposed to ignore or get over it.
I am a man of pointed words too, and those words are - Look in the mirror and you will find that you are not nearly as self important as you believe yourself to be. Now enjoy your golf. I require breakfast and respite from your claptrap and borish attitude.

Why is it that a hobby, an avocation, so often leads to these hate-matches? Seems to happen all over the 'net so we aren't unique. Scant comfort, though.

Plainsman: Why is a good question. Were I to hate I would have left these boards long ago. Hating someone is conterproductive and when one hates they have already lost. This is not a case of hate on anyones part including Rosebud. He argues his point and internalizes these things to a point where it becomes his way or the highway. That is a sign of a closed mind and not hate
There are people that I have a great deal of respect for here. That includes Rosebud, although his methods often frustrate me, and I have the feeling that no matter what is said, it does not ever reveal the true cause of his heartburn with anyone. That is his problem, and no matter how much I would like to assist him with his internals I have no power to do so until he should ask for such assistance. I will not hold my breath until that happens.
You are very well aware of the one person I have absolutely no respect for, and the one person who by training and education should know better, but has let his childlike proclivity for romance and adventure trump common sense.

Plainsman,
In many ways it is because of the impersonal way our writings and reading come through. If we all were to sit down over a beer or so, things would wind up a lot differently. I have found in many cases it is not even the way we write here, but the way we read. I will always believe the most misunderstood person on these boards-- and one who writes the most clearly-- is Dark Cloud. People latch onto only a portion of what he writes when he becomes critical of something, then ignore the spirit he is writing in. That is why he is so insistent upon people going back to re-read various posts, his, as well as their own. It took me a while to figure that out, but when I did the light went on and I realized what he was truly like. I also realized just how big a confounded ass I can really be. Others should be so illuminated... and that does not mean you, please.
Best wishes, Fred.
