A would like to pay tribute to Elouise Cobell, Yellow Bird Woman a Blackfeet Indian, who died last week of cancer at the age of 65.
This remarkable lady spent the last 16 years of her life fighting the U.S. Government in the courts for monies due to her tribe from mismanagement by Government Departments going back to 1887.
In 2009 the lawsuit resulted in a $3.4 billion settlement in favour of 500,000 Native Americans for mismanaging their accounts and to buy up fractionated land and turn it over to the tribes and establish a scholarship for college-bound youth. The settlement was approved by Congress and signed by President Obama last last year and was given final approval in June 2011.
She was made a warrior by the Blackfeet Tribe and honoured as such at her funeral last Saturday. I commend her to you all as someone whose example we should aspire to.

"Hunk" If you say she should be honored, thats good enough for me. May she rest in peace Hope all is well with you Dan It's good to 'speak' with you again Dan, but it is not me who advocates that Elouise should be honoured. Her tribe has already done that, all I want to do is to bring it to the attention of board members here as she deserves at least to have mention here. Thanks for your enquiry and yes, all is well with me and I trust with you and yours too. Take care. Hunk
