This is totally off-topic, but I'm hoping a few people will help me.
This Saturday, February 11, a local non-profit organization, Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation, is hosting an art and antique appraisal fair, similar to "Antiques Roadshow." Some of the appraisers like to refer to Internet resources, and we cannot afford to have cable lines ($300 per connection!) so we use dial-up connections.
I know that AOL broadband now allows more than one screen name per account to be online at the same time. However, I don't know if that is the case with dial-ups. Last year I borrowed a few screen names from friends, but they don't have those accounts now.
I would really appreciate it if three AOL users with unlimited time would allow me to use a screen name and password from 9:00 until 4:00 Saturday. If you haven't used all of your available screen names, please consider adding one for our use. I promise that no one will do anything that will cause you to get spam or viruses. We simply need a way to get to the Internet.
If you are willing to loan us a screen name, please write to me directly at DDMerkel@cox.net. Thank you!

Diane--
So if I let you use the AOL screen name, do I get one strand from your clipping of Custer hair?
Regards, Leyton (I drive a hard bargain, hehehe) McLean

That is beyond a hard bargain, Leyton! I'm sorry, but I think Chuck would throw me out on my ear if I dared to touch the strand. It is in some sort of protective case in a locked vault, safely away from his wife's hands.

If I had an AOL account, I'd do it for strands of anybody's hair. I'm an inch or two taller than my hair is.

You have a strand of Custer's hair?
I once had a brick from Hitler's house. Lost it in the... ah, forget it!
Fred.
PS-- What's AOL? Isn't that a soldier who left without permission? And Dude... nice head!

BTW, are you another one who thinks his hair seems more red/auburn upon seeing actual cuttings of it? I do wish I could help, but we don't have AOL. We gave it up years ago ... it was just too expensive for the features then offered. Regards, Leyton McLean

BTW--I have a genuine, ca. 2004, original copy of the Amheiser-Busch "Custer's Last Stand," painting, complete with compound material carrying case ... Regards, LMC

It is in some sort of protective case in a locked vault, safely away from his wife's hands. I recently acquired an Arby's wrapper that was discarded by the 7th on their way to the Little Bighorn. You can still smell the BBQ sauce. I can't imagine what it must be worth.

My grandfather had a brick from Abraham Lincoln's privy. Really. He had it built into his backyard barbeque. He also gave me a print of the Anheuser-Busch painting--it's in my workshop. Really.

I believe you, Melani!
Is the brick still in the barbeque? I've collected some bricks over the years -- nothing as impressive as one from Lincoln's privy! -- but I've forgotten where some were collected. It's hard to mark a brick . . . .

Melani:
I'll pass on any of your barbeque parties!
