From a website visitor: My mother visited the Little Bighorn back in the summer of 1945. At that time she met an Indian who was said to be one of the last living survivors of the Battle. She believes he was some kind of caretaker at the site. Have you any idea how we might determine the identity of this man?

Is it possible the man was Crow, as the battlefield is situated on Crow land. There are Crow interpreters, guides and bus drivers there, some of whom I learned are descended from Custer's Crow scouts.
