I think it was John Wayne in Fort Apache, or one of those, that kept saying: "Don't apologize, Lieutenant. It's a sign of weakness." <g>
Oh...sorry for that...

I think it was John Wayne in Fort Apache, or one of those, that kept saying: "Don't apologize, Lieutenant. It's a sign of weakness." <g> Oh...sorry for that... Clair That be She wore a Yeller Ribbon. Young Lt. Pennell kept saying the wrong thing. Pennell and Lt. Cohill were vying for that Dandridge girl who wasn't army. Then they missed the stage at Sudrow's wells. Then Cohill held the ford while the rest escaped. Capt. Brittles retired, Pennell led the relief column, and then Brittles showed up 12 minutes before midnight by his brand new silver watch, they raided the vill, captured all the ponies, and made the tribe walk back to the reservation. Brittles was promoted to chief of scouts. Fort Apache was Capt. York who had Henry Fonda as Col. Thursday show up as regimental commander just after the lbh with his daughter Philadelphia Thursday who later married O'Rouke's young Lt. son. Fonda sent York to parley with Cohise and talked him into coming back to the states. Fonda then led the regiment in a column of fours attack into a box canyon trap by Cochise after fonda sent York back for cowardice after challenging him. York took the young O'Rourke with him. York became commander of the regiment. Rio Grande was Col. York, whose son washed out of West Point, and showed up as a recruit. Then York's ex-wife, Kathleen, showed up to get her son back. She reunited with York after some good singing by the Sons of the Pioneers. Gen Sheridan then secretly authorized York to cross the Rio Grande to get the children back who were captured by NAs on their trip to another fort. York's son snuck into the church and awaited York's charges through the vill until Col York was shot with an arrow that his son pulled out. Everybody got this straight now? bc

LOL...I would never admit that I knew those movies that well, bc. <G> But I do have them all in my DVD collection...probably more than one copy. People keep sending me them as gifts, like they think I'm interested in this stuff. I'm a Soldier. I'm anti-intellectual, and anti-Hollywood. Right. ConZ

< Try slow-cooking over apple wood coals, add some herbs, spices, and you will find that crow is not that bad after all PS: Chase afterwards with at least 2 shots of the best Ouzo you can afford! ;D In that case, I'll settle for a Bud...... oh wait, I guess it's no longer an American beer......so I'll settle for a Coors. Sheesh, Coors and Crow.....that sounds like a recipe for disaster........That should shut me up! Bab

Clair, those movies just keep rerunning and I can't resist them. Rio Grande which probably reruns the least is my favorite because of the music and the love story involved.

I've got Hardoff's Indian Views of the Custer Fight.
Good companion with Michno's book on a similar vein.
