Verrrrrrry interesting, especially the parts about Nucholls getting eight bushels an acre of wheat, and Custer being in Knoxville, commanding a brigade which included the First Tennessee Mounted Infantry.

Gordie I had to look it up myself. "UNION TENNESSEE VOLUNTEERS 1st Regiment, Tennessee Mounted Infantry Organized at Nashville and Carthage, Tenn., December, 1863, to November, 1864. Attached to District of Middle Tennessee, Dept. of the Cumberland, to February, 1865. 1st Brigade, 1st Sub-District, District of Middle Tennessee, Dept. of the Cumberland, to July, 1865. SERVICE.-Duty at Carthage, Granville and on line of the Nashville & Chattanooga Railroad in District of Middle Tennessee till April, 1865. Ordered to Murfreesboro, Tenn., April 18, and duty there till June 26. Ordered to Nashville and mustered out July 22, 1865." www.civilwar.nps.gov/cwss/regiments.cfm
