Denver media icon Bob Palmer died at 77 yesterday.
Palmer was a Custer Buff, and wrote "The Death of Yellowhair", included in Connell's bibliography and others'. He was convinced brother Tom put his elder brother out of misery.
I interviewed him on radio two decades ago, and he was a gracious and good guy. We agreed on nothing about the battle. He had ridden the battlefield in his youth and seemed to know everyone then prominent in Custerism. Perhaps some here remember.
He will be widely mourned in Denver and throughout Colorado.

Those who have missed Bob Palmer since his retirement ten or so years ago, will be doubly saddened by his passing. I understood that he was in ill health for some time, which does nothing to mitigate the loss to his friends and former listeners and viewers.
