Fred, my friend, my reply to the giants winning, and particularly eli sissy manning, would be censored and never make it in print here. All I have to say is congratulations to the giants outstanding defensive effort. That's what won the game; not that "feline" manning, if you follow my drift..

Before this game, I figured the way the 98-99 Vikings lost after going 15-1 and having the most prolific offense ever was about as bad as it gets. But to go 16-0 and then lose the Super Bowl must be worse.
Then again, these same Patriots have 3 championships in 4 tries. In 7 years. And presumably most are BoSox fans, 2 championships added to that lot.

Yes, Gordie, them's figure skaters. I thought I'd put something nice and unoffensive in my avatar so I couldn't be accused of defaming anybody.

Emily:
Some are offended by figure skaters, not me mind you, but some. There is virtually nothing inoffensive to someone these days, to judge by the human rights tribunals and law suits.

Tricia, I see figure skaters in your avatar? I've always been a big fan of Olympic skating. Enclosed you will find a short clip of the best thing ever to come from Switzerland, Denise Biellman and her 1980 perfomance-known for the "Biellman Spin". She should have got the Gold that year. www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHFPNBsuMiA

I enjoy ice skating more than Custer.
I actually saw Denise Biellman live here in Little Rock. It's kind of a bittersweet memory because a sports crew for TBS or ESPN was broadcasting the event and their colour man was Christopher Bowman, who died a month ago. He--at the time--was sober and newly married. Sigh.
I was more into speed skating in 1980, but I seem to remember that some East German girl won the gold that year in the Ladies' event, a short programme specialist. Linda Fratianne won the silver, I think ... and of course, Denise and that spin. Ouch!
