A little while back there was a thread and some photos of some fighting on Crazy woman creek. Maybe my eyes are failing or getting too adled but I just can't seem to locate it. Can anyone steer me in the right direction please? thanks craw

I've got a couple pictures of Crazy Woman Crossing and Lt. Daniel's marker. Now if I can only remember how to post. Here is Lt. Daniel's marker. He didn't fall here, but is just a marker in his memory, as well as a Sgt. who was also killed: i63.photobucket.com/albums/h153/bubbabod/01710096.jpgHere is Crazy Woman Crossing: i63.photobucket.com/albums/h153/bubbabod/01710095-1.jpgThese pictures were taken in 1997. Daniels' marker was located overlooking CW Crossing. When I visited it again in about 2001, the museum from Kaycee had carved out a cul de sac about half a mile from the creek with new signage, and Daniels' marker has been moved to that location. Before, there was nothing more than the marker. The signage faces the hill where the wagon train is said to have retreated to and made their stand and gives a good interpretation of the fight. This is a pretty hard to find site, way out in the boonies, but certainly worth the effort.

Great pictures as usual, Wy Man. That artifact looks to be an early period Schlitz or an early model Pabst Blue Ribbon.

Thanks for the info on the artifact bc. Lead solder points on food containers - another reason life expectancy for the frontier soldier was short.

Thanks for the info on the artifact bc. Lead solder points on food containers - another reason life expectancy for the frontier soldier was short. I was joking about the beer cans cause that's about all I see at a lot of sites. Lead solder suggest some type of food container but I don't recognize that object in the picture. Oyster can maybe.
