This is the living history demonstration put on by Michael Bad Hand Terry at the Bozeman Trail/Ft. Phil Kearny Days in 2004. Michael had set up his camp on the side of Piney Creek where the saw mill had been located. Everything you see in his lean-to was made by hand by him. He has served as a technical expert on moves, such as Dances With Wolves. He gives a great demonstration.

I think it is great that we have people like him that are interested enough to go throgh the trouble to recreate history and give us that authentic look and it sure makes better movies too!

Tim, I don't know if you've ever seen Michael Terry or heard of him before. He makes appearances all over the place with all his handmade artifacts. He is truly a wealth of information. If any of you have ever seen the episode of Extreme History, I think it's called, on the History Channel, there was one show where the host was being given a demonstration of how the Indians would hunt buffalo before horses. It was Michael Terry, in full Indian garb, showing him in and around a herd of buffalo, how it was done. Terry then demonstrated to him hand to hand combat as the Indians would fight. When I went to the 2001 125th anniversary reenactment on the Real Bird property, before I'd ever seen or heard of Terry, there was one Indian reenactor whose horsemanship stood out. Yep, it was Terry. I highly recommend to anyone who gets a chance to see Terry's demonstration, do it. He's at the annual rendevouse, etc. also.
