Mrs. Elizabeth Custer, widow of Gen George A. Custer, returned to New York Tuesday, on the Oceanic, after having spent three months in touring Europe by automobile. She, with Mr. and Mrs William V. Lawrence and the Misses Agnes and Elizabeth Wellington, spent 30 days visiting interesting- points, and never remained two nights in the same place Mrs. Custer said that the monument the City of Monroe. Mich., is to raise to the memory of her husband, would be unveiled next year. The model made by William C. Potter, of, Greenwich, Conn. has been accepted.
