I hope to retire one day to Cooperstown, NY. My wife and I bought a house there several years ago for that purpose, and we visit often. Yes, I love baseball, but we actually fell in love with the town and area as well. If you've never visited there I highly recommend it.
A few years back I was reading Graham and noticed that Edgerly's letters were written from Cooperstown. I did some digging this past year with the help of the town historian and have some info. on Edgerly's time there. I also have pictures of his house, as well as his wife's house (they had separate residences, interestingly enough -- though there may be a health or census reason for that).
The bottom line -- I cannot figure out how to download the pictures to the website. Several have been nice enough to offer to do it for me, but since I'm not sure how interesting this will be to anyone I'll just leave it at this: If you're interested and want to see the pics, some genealogical info, etc. just drop me a message through the website, include your email address and I'll send the stuff to you.

Hi Blair.
I'm with you on the picture downloading/uploading. I posted a question on this forum about this subject, and ended up pretty much deciding it wasn't worth the effort. The process is too convoluted for me to spend much time on. It may be a design feature of the website so that too many people won't be posting pictures which do take up a lot of storage space.

Guys! You are breaking my heart! The photo process is easy once you understand it. Basically, the photo must be available on the Internet. 1. If the photo is already on a website, copy its web address into your message, highlight the address, and then click the image icon (fourth from left) above. When you preview the message, you'll see that the photo is there. 2. If the photo is on your computer, e-mail it to me at LBHA@cox.net, and I'll post it for you. Be sure to tell me which board, thread, reply it goes in. 3. If the photo is in a book, there's a good chance I have it and can post it for you. Tell me where to find it. The Indians board is full of photos. I don't discourage them at all. Diane

Hi Diane.
I tried for two days to load that photo of the Indians playing ping-pong, finally gave up and sent it to you. I tried many times loading the URL as directed but it just wouldn't take. I guess I'm not the only one "hyper terminally challenged". I do well at my age to get my shoes on the correct feet of a morning. It just seems there ought to be an easier way. Oh well.

If I recall correctly, that photo did not have its own web address; it was within a web page. For way #1 above to work, the web address has to end in .gif or .jpg. For the ping pong photo, I copied the photo to my hard drive, put it on my server, and placed it in the message. So, perhaps the process isn't as easy as I would like, but all of your trouble was worth it for that photo!
