The remains of Captain George D. Wallace, 7th U.S. Cavalry lay in the ground in Rose Hill Cemetery, York, South Carolina.
My good friend and member of LBHA, John D. Mackintosh has written an excellent account of this fine officer. The title is Custer's Southern Officer. Many of you have probably already read it, if not, treat yourself to it !
If you ever travel in the upper counties of South Carolina, stop by and visit. As you can see, his family left a wonderful memorial to him
