The first seminar of 2008 will shine the spotlight on George Armstrong Custer, the flamboyant leader who was a hero of the Civil War and the Battle of Gettysburg before he lost his life at the Battle of Little Big Horn.
Jeffry D. Wert, who wrote a book about Custer, will be one of the featured speakers during the March 27-30 seminar. Steve Alexander will portray Custer, as he has done on the History Channel and other television productions. In addition, there will be a special exhibit of artifacts from The Battle of the Little Big Horn. Article: www.echo-pilot.com/news/2008/0227/news/051.html

Diane,
I posted about this event in the Civil War forum. In addition to the things you noted, I'm leading battlefield tours with Ed Bearss.

I saw your thread, Eric. A little cross-posting never hurt when advertising events. It sounds like a great series. I'm sorry I'll miss your tour because I know how good you are as a guide. Diane

Diane,
That's quite a compliment--thank you.
The truth is that I'm very much second fiddle for this one. It's Ed's show and Ed's world, and I'm just along for the ride. ;D

To be second fiddle to him would be quite an honor, but I have a feeling you'll get equal time. Have fun!

I held Ed's maps on one tour of Vicksburg...that was what I was worth. And I was honored...<g>
