In David Cornut's world anymore, I guess. He has a short article in a French-language war magazine, Champs de Bataille, which mentions The Custer Clan website as a great place to find LBH information ... I don't mean any disrespect to that site, but isn't it more for those who are into re-enacting? www.net4war.com/champsdebataille/numero/cdb17.htmYou've got to love a site called "4 War," eh? And Diane, I think the break-up is now permanent ... sigh. Does anybody have a copy? I'd love to see what CSS tells us about The World's Greatest And Sadly Betrayed Hero. --t.

Damn ... I tried the "Increase text size" facility, but all it enlarged was the headlines. If anyone can find a way to make it readable, I'll cheerfully have a go at a translation. (Not trying to show off, I promise! -- just that I've had to brush up my French a lot since my brother went to live in Burgundy.)
I think we can probably guess the nature of the contents, however ...

I have just been perfectly charmed to discover that David's site has a shop, where we can purchase books, DVD's and tee shirts. Didn't have time to check the entire selection of merchandise--I for one am hoping for a coffee mug.

Do you think Marc Rolland might have a copy of the magazine? He might be able to provide a translation ... I can ask. I wonder if CSS is making any money from his "shop" for Custer stuff. I'll buy 50 copies of Glory Hunter through the site ... hehehe. My favourite GAC book, his worst nightmare!

Strangely enough, Glory Hunter doesn't seem to be one of the offerings, though he does have Whittaker. And I spoke too soon--there is a coffee mug. It says "I (heart) Custer." There is a pretty good selection of books offered, apparently through Amazon.

I'm guessing there probably aren't any of those Custer Killer tee shirts for those of us of Indian sympathies and blood type ... because David's site is an .org thing, I'm wondering how much money he makes from anybody using the link he provides to buy from Amazon ...
Supposedly that's how that stuff works. I know my writers' groups both get like 5% from both Amazon and B&N. If the LBHA board was smart (which they aren't now), they'd hook up something like that at their Brand New And Improved--Most Importantly Merkel-Free--Website.

The Library Friends do the Amazon link as well, but I believe it only works for new books. I tend to buy mostly used--I don't care what they look like, I just want the information. But is David a non-profit? I think you can get the best selection of tee shirts at the Trading Post, to tell the truth.

Melani--
Our Amazon link does give FWCA a kickback on all purchases, although the profit for us with used items is quite small, like 2.5%. And what's great is that if you want to buy a washer or dryer, our group gets a portion of those big ticket items. One just has to go through our link on our website. It's not limited to books.
Billy, as for the new LBHA site, I think they're still trying how to figure out how to acquire a website--at least that is what I heard last week. I'm guessing they're gonna need some serious time to reinvent the wheel ...

Maybe they should try Yahoo.
