A longtime LBHA member would appreciate assistance with the identification of the artists of the following paintings. If you happen to know the correct title for each painting, that would be helpful, too. The first one depicts Benny's rescue and the second is at Pompey's Pillar. Thanks!

The top one is Trumpeter Fischer trying to save Lt. Hodgson. Not sure of the print's title. It was done by Ralph Heinz.
They sell it at the battlefield bookstore. It's also available from the CBHMA.

Not positive but the bottom print looks like the work of Montana artist J. K. Ralston. Don't know the title but it depicts an incident during the 1873 Yellowstone Expedition when Sioux warriors fired upon Seventh Cavalry troopers while they were bathing in the river at Pompey's Pillar. Naked men were sent scrambling ashore to retreive weapons and clothing, much to the amusement of the Sioux.

The first painting (by Ralph Heinz) is entitled "Trumpeter Fisher and Lt. Hodgson".
The second painting graced the bookjacket of "Custer's 7th Cav And The Campaign Of 1873" by Lawrence Frost (1986). It is entitled "General Custer At Pompey's Pillar" and was created by J.K. Ralston. It was provided to Frost courtesy of the Pompey's Pillar National Landmark Collection.
