From a website visitor:
I have attached 3 pictures, and I am hoping someone will look at them (and help me). I believe this painting is of great historical value and I am hoping you can give me some information (any information) on the person who sat for this painting.
The painting is old; it was painted in 1924 to 1926. There is no artist signature on the front but there is a name on the back. I believe the name on the back panel is the name of the Indian. Could you help me with this name?
Through the research I have done I found the coup bonnet is of brown eagle feathers, and this leads me to believe the warrior performed many brave and honorable deeds. Is the heavy beading on the headdress Cheyenne or Sioux? I would like to thank you in advance for any information you can provide.
