A website visitor would like to purchase a genuine lithograph of the Anheuser-Busch advertising piece, the one shown on the home page of www.lbha.org. Any ideas where he can find one?

Diane:
Google would probably turn one up. I have seen originals from time to time on EBAy - there are almost always copies available there in various formats.
Gordie, meet me in St. Louis, Louis.........................................................................

Also the Custer Battlefield and Museum Assoc. sells them through their bookstore. I don't know if they are listed on the website cbhma.org but they have them listed in their flyer. There should be a phone number somewhere....

Thanks, guys, but he wants an "original," not a current reproduction.

Diane:
The second link provided by Elisabeth is the real deal. If no longer available, at least your asker will get a good idea of pricing for an original.
Gordie, cheap at half the price, but never easy.............................................................

It looks good, Gordie. (Thanks, Elisabeth!) I told the man that there are many variations. Ours has "Home of Budweiser" under the Anheuser-Busch name, and you can see where the area with A-H and Bud was covered at one point, presumably during prohibition. What did the beer companies do during prohibition? Maybe Fred remembers . . .

Back in the eighties I found one produced by Budweiser for bars that actually lit up...back lighted. It was in an antique store in Kentucky but the owner said it was the only thing not for sale. I have never seen or heard of one since. It was incredibly tacky, therefor wonderful.

I know this is an older post but I do have an original piece that I own. It is on canvas. I purchased it at an estate sale in Prescott Arizona about 8 years ago.
Soon after I purchased it I brought it to the J. Paul Getty museum in California to see if they could look at preserving or restoring it because it is cracked in places but very complete. The people at the museum looked at it and told me to get it insured and then they would work on it. I ended up not doing it but I did put it into a very nice frame with plastic in front (I thought it might help preserve it). They told me that it was a very early piece.
Anyway, I would be willing to part with it. If anyone would like to see pictures or talk, please email me and I will call you right back.
Just so everyone knows, I am not a collector or dealer. I know just what I've been told and see on the internet.
Serious inquiries only please.
Thank you,
Chuck Anderson Phoenix Arizona

I picked mine up for $40 in a local antique store back in the '80's, it's a newer version and has a very nice heavy wooden frame.
