Spotted these cheeky numbers on ebay, made by a Japanese designer company called Fiberops:

GAC--
Leave it to you! Now, I wonder in my feeble mind, what is the purpose of it? It almost seems like one unit's jiving of the First of the Seventh Cav. It wouldn't be the first time. When I was in the First Infantry Division, the general had a fit if you referred to our armored cavalry regiment, the First of the Fourth or the 1/4 Armored Cav-- as the "quarter-horse."
Oh, well.
Best wishes, Fred.

Not quite my style either these days Fred! As to the original concept behind the design - I haven't got a clue. It could as you suggest originate in a spoof from some military unit - the whole thing's executed very much in the style of aircraft 'nose art'. Maybe someone here will know the story behind it - she is one cute little Indian maid, though! Regards, GAC

Maybe it's not part of any military . . . just what if the Indians had those type of "tomahawks" back in the old days

It really looks very like 1940's WWII bomber nose art to me. They used to have all sorts of 'do in the nazis' kinds of stuff (and pretty girls), so this looks like the sort of thing one would expect to see if the Indians had used some B-17's during the Indian Wars. Nice fantasy.
