Since I've had a subscription to National Geographic for about a thousand years, I've probably got the thing somewhere in my basement, which I've been meaning to clean anyway. This could take a while.

Elisabeth, Shan, and other UK LBHA members --
I don't mind being a "drop box" for you on e-Bay purchases that won't ship to the UK. I've done it for a French member for a long time. You can have things sent to you in care of me, and I'll send it along to you. I don't mind as long as it isn't anything illegal!
Shan -- Writing you a note is on my to-do list. I haven't forgotten your last question and have good news for you. Give me a few days to get caught up on other things (like the work that actually pays me), and I'll be in touch.
Diane

I think I may have a stumper here...
Has anyone ever heard of the book, "Legacy, The Battle of the Little Big Horn," by Ward Garing?
Best wishes, Fred.

Thanks to T-Dude for the link.
Fred, as you will see, the name is actually Legacy: The Treaty of Little Big Horn and the cover says, "Based on an idea by Scott Baron." Well, you're one who likes historical fiction. Do you have it?

Diane--
No, but the same gal who sold that for Garing wanted to represent my little effort. Very interesting. I wonder if anyone's read it & if so, how is it?
Best wishes, Fred.
P.S.-- Oh, and thanks, Treasuredude. FCW

Diane, thanks for the offer!
Shan -- I got mine from a company called El Pinarillo Books, in Streatham (familiar territory?!). Their website is elpinarillobooks.com. Not sure if they've got other copies, but they may well have. There do seem to be plenty around, which is good news! So if they've sold out, I'd suggest just doing a Google search, which is how I found my copy; it came up with loads of possibles.

Crab -- No, I don't. OK, it's a deal! Care to PM me your mailing address? (Sorry, Fred -- much as I'm tempted!) Will do. Do you happen to have a link to your book? I wanted to check it out, but I can't find it on Amazon.

I'm going to be honest, that seems like an uneven trade. At the most, the book I have costs 15 bucks...

Oh, don't worry, I didn't pay anything like their price for my copy! Can't remember how much now, but it wasn't that expensive ...

I have a book titled 'Legacy - New Perspectives on the Battle of the Little Bighorn', edited by Charles Rankin. Published by the Montana Historical Society Press. It's a collection of essays given at the proceedings of the Little Bighorn Legacy Symposium, held in Billings, Montana, August 3-6, 1994. Some of the various speakers and topics included the following:
Crazy Horse, Lakota Leadership, and the Fort Laramie Treaty -- Joseph C. Porter
Army Allies or Tribal Survival? The "Other Indians" in the 1876 Campaign -- Colin G. Calloway
A Battle among Skirmishes: Little Bighorn in the Great Sioux War -- Jerome A. Greene
Custer and the Little Bighorn Story: What It All Means -- John D. McDermott
A Battle Won and a War Lost: A Lakota Perspective -- Joseph M. Marshall III
Oral and Written Indian Perspectives on the Indian Wars -- Margot Liberty
West River History: The Indian Village on the Little Bighorn River, June 25-26, 1876 -- Richard A. Fox, Jr.
Archaeological Perspectives on the Battle of the Little Bighorn: A Retrospective -- Douglas D. Scott
"Holy Ground"; The United States Army Embraces Custer's Battlefield -- Paul L. Hedren
"What Valor Is"; Artists and the Mythic Moment -- Brian W. Dippie
Contemporary Perspectives on the Little Bighorn -- John P. Hart
Signifying on the Little Bighorn -- Richard S. Slotkin
From Shrine to Historic Site: The Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument -- Edward T. Linenthal
Among others ...
A very interesting book, full of invaluable information and difficult to find graphics related to the battle.
