The pages we were given copies of relate to the Weir-Libbie episode in Kansas. Those of you who have been on these boards for a while may remember previous discussions about it. John Carroll had access to the entire book and published a booklet about it. I don't remember which one -- Carroll published a lot -- but I'll find out or someone else may know. I doubt I'll ever see the entire book but I would love to!

Got my copy of the Luce book in the mail today. The writing and story line is at best...seventh grade level...the picture on page 27 is not of the Custer battlefield but the well known pen and ink drawing of the Kidder Massacre. Tons of mistakes through out and it is...well...a bizarre little booklet. 35 pages...Hardly worth $12 though. Still, I'll add it to my collection...

Scout:
Thank you for the info - I'll definitely not be wasting any money on this one. Besides, at a seventh grade level, it may be over my head.

Absolutely a waste of money. So, given that there would be a great demand for it, why can't somebody do a reasonably-priced reprint of the orginal?!?!

Good point Melani....why can't they reprint the original? The original Luce book has to be more interesting than this booklet I would imagine. I can't see where anything was taken from Luce's book. This thing reads like a junior high class paper at best. No attempt was made to make it interesting in anyway.
