Here's a link to a podcast interview from the Fairfax County (Virginia) Public Library with John Lubetkin, author of Jay Cooke's Gamble: The Northern Pacific Railroad, The Sioux, And the Panic of 1873. It's a bit muddy but understandable. fcplfoundation.podblaze.com/BookCast_John_Lubetkin.mp3

Lubetkin sure has done a 180 from his book Union College Class of 1868 where he absolutely savaged Custer by comparing him to Jeffrey Dahmer and a Japanese War Criminal.
The Jay Cook's Gamble is a good read. Balanced.
